How can we help?

52 answers about Kora, from your first tournament to closing the cashier.

Getting started

7
How do I create an account?

At app.korapoker.com, with your email. The sign-in link lands in your inbox, then you add your name and create the organization by choosing the kind of game you run.

Which kind of game should I pick?

Home game is for a group that plays at home, club is for a poker room open every day, with cashier, cash game and bar, and event is for a multi-day festival. The kind of game and the plan set the menu and what comes turned on, and you turn on the rest of the plan in Settings.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Kora opens in the browser on your computer and phone, at app.korapoker.com. The room TV opens the clock in its browser, with the tournament code.

Is there a phone app?

The iPhone and Android app is coming soon to the App Store and Google Play. Until then, Kora opens in your phone's browser with the same account.

Do players need an account?

No. In a home game or a club, you add whoever showed up with just a name, and they play and score right away. If they create an account later, they claim their own profile and you approve it.

I use a spreadsheet today. How do I start?

Once you create your account, add the players for your next night. The history of every night after that stays in Kora.

What languages is Kora available in?

Portuguese, English, Spanish and Japanese. Each person picks their own language, and your group, club or event can change any word in the system.

Tournament and clock

7
How do I set up a tournament?

Open the stage and create the tournament with its blind structure and sale items: buy-in, re-entry, rebuy and add-on. Save structures and items in Settings and the next tournament is ready to go.

Can I change the levels while the tournament is running?

Yes. Levels can be edited while the clock is running, and the current level's time doesn't jump.

Does Kora handle late reg and breaks?

Yes. The structure stores the last level open for registration and where the breaks fall, and the clock shows how long until the next one.

Does Kora do the table draw?

Yes. It draws a seat for every entrant, and also opens tables, balances them, runs a redraw, breaks tables and moves players. Anyone who bought in before there was a seat sits down as soon as the table opens.

How do prizes work?

The Prizes tab builds the paid places from your prize structure, guarantee included, or you set them by hand. A prize can be cash, a seat or credit, and the payment goes into the player's account.

Can I run a multi-day tournament?

Yes. A tournament can have flights, like Day 1A, Day 1B and the final, and each day shows up on the schedule.

See Kora for events
Does Kora have Sit & Go?

Yes. A Sit & Go starts on its own when the table fills up.

Tournament TV

5
How do I put the clock on the TV?

Open the TV's browser at the tournament address with the six-character code. The TV doesn't ask for a login and stays on that tournament.

See the TV styles
Can each TV show a different tournament?

Yes. Each screen gets a code and follows the tournament you choose.

What are the TV styles?

Ruler, Mosaic and Stage. The club sets the default in Settings, each tournament can switch, and the colors and background live in the TV layout.

Does the TV show the prizes?

Yes, guarantee included, in all three styles.

Is there a TV for the cash game and the jackpot?

Yes. The cash game waitlist and the jackpot have their own screens, each with its own code.

Sales and cashier

7
Can I split a buy-in between PIX and cash?

Yes. One sale splits the amount across whatever methods the player wants, their balance included, and each method charges its own fee.

See Kora for clubs
Can the change stay on the player's account?

Yes. When a player pays with a larger bill, the change becomes credit on their account, for a rebuy, the bar or a cash-out at the end of the night.

Can I have more than one cashier?

Yes. Each operator opens their own drawer, and the closing shows the sales of each one.

How does cashier reconciliation work?

At closing, each payment method shows what the system recorded, what was counted and the difference. The Logs tab keeps every entry along with who made it.

The cashier doesn't balance. Where do I look?

In these four places, which explain almost every difference. The Logs tab shows who recorded each one.

  • An expense paid from elsewhere but recorded as paid from the drawer.
  • A sale with the change given as credit: the drawer expects the whole bill.
  • A PIX payment that went to the vault instead of the drawer.
  • A reversed sale where the bill never went back to the player.
Can payment wait until the end of the night?

Yes. Tabs come turned on for home games, with a per-player cap you can change in Settings.

Does Kora print receipts?

Yes, on 80 mm paper, through the browser's print dialog.

Players and ranking

7
How do I add a player?

With just a name. Phone, email or CPF (Brazilian taxpayer ID) can come later if the club asks for them, and Kora warns you when someone with the same name already exists.

Do players need a CPF?

At events, yes. Player sign-up with a CPF comes turned on for registration.

How does the ranking work?

Each night becomes a stage. The ranking adds up the points with your group’s points-by-finish table, can count only the best results or drop the worst, and the standings download as a spreadsheet. For a home game it comes with Home Game Plus; for clubs and events, with every plan.

See Kora for home games
Can I run more than one ranking at a time?

Yes, on Home Game Plus and on every club and event plan. A group can run several competitions at once, and a stage can also exist without a championship.

Can I block sales to a player?

Yes. An alert with a block makes the cashier refuse the sale in that module, and the refusal states the reason.

Can a player keep a balance at the club?

Yes. Change and prizes can stay as credit on their account, and the balance works at any table and at the bar.

Can players sign in with their own account?

Yes. They join through an invite, with a code or a link, claim their own profile, and you approve it.

Cash game, bar and jackpot

4
How does the cash game work in Kora?

Each table opens with its game type and number of seats. Chip buys and cash-outs go through the cashier, the chip drawer counts by denomination, and rake, pot per hour and tips are logged as returns.

See Kora for clubs
Is there a waitlist for the cash game?

Yes. Reservations form a queue for each game type, and the queue shows on a TV with the club's code.

Does the bar go on the player's account?

Yes. A tab can belong to a player or be a walk-in tab, each order comes out of stock and goes to the kitchen, and payment can be split across methods.

How does the jackpot work?

The jackpot grows with a share of the tournament and the cash game, holds back the house cut on each contribution, and shows on the TV what each hand pays, from royal flush down to full house.

Staff and access

5
Does each staff member get their own login?

Yes. Each one goes into a permission group, you allow or block permissions person by person, and every staff member's sign-ins are logged.

Can I require two-factor codes from staff?

Yes. The club turns the requirement on, and staff logins start asking for a code from an authenticator app.

Do the modules I don't use show up in the menu?

No. The club turns each module on or off in Settings, and anything turned off leaves the menu.

My sign-in link didn't work. What do I do?

The email link works only once. Ask for another one on the sign-in screen and check that the address you opened belongs to your organization.

Is my club's data mine?

Your organization's players, sales and reports belong to you. You can export them and request their deletion.

Plans and pricing

10
How much does it cost?

The home game is free with up to 20 active players and 4 stages a month, and Home Game Plus, for up to 60 players and unlimited stages, costs R$39 a month. A club costs R$390 or R$690 a month, and an event R$990 a month, with the first 7 days free on both.

Compare plans
What are the limits of the free home game?

Up to 20 active players and 4 stages created per month. The group owner doesn't count toward the 20, and the stage count resets on the 1st of every month. On Home Game Plus, for R$39 a month, the limit goes up to 60 players and stages are unlimited. On both plans, each stage has one tournament.

My group went past 20 players. What now?

Kora refuses to add a 21st active player. Players who stopped coming can be made inactive and no longer count toward the 20. To play with up to 60, subscribe to Home Game Plus, for R$39 a month, under Plan and billing.

What does Home Game Plus unlock?

For R$39 a month, the group goes up to 60 active players, creates as many stages as it wants, with one tournament in each, and casts the tournament from the app to the TV. The ranking, with your brand on the public page, the jackpot and general finance come turned on, and you turn on the cash game in Settings.

Compare plans
Can a home game have a bar with tabs?

No, not on any home game plan. The bar with tabs comes with the Clube Plus plan and with events, and the floor and the other venue modules belong to clubs and events. Home Game Plus turns on rankings, cash games, the jackpot and finance.

Is there a setup fee?

No. You pay only for the plan, and clubs and events start with 7 free days.

Is there a minimum contract?

No. On any paid plan, you can stop paying whenever you want, with no penalty.

What happens after the 7 free days?

The system becomes read-only until you subscribe to a plan. Nothing you recorded is lost, and you can sell again as soon as the payment goes through.

How do I sign up for a plan?

For a club or an event, you create the account and use the first 7 days free. To keep going, subscribe under Plan and billing, by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. For a home game, you start on the free plan and subscribe to Home Game Plus whenever you want.

Can I change plans later?

Yes, under Plan and billing in Settings. Moving up takes effect right away, and moving down takes effect at the next renewal.
